The Breaking New Grant Fund ‘People’s Pot’ offered grants up to £5,000 for projects that conserved, enhanced, celebrated of the historic landscape of the scheme area, or increased public awareness. Two rounds of applications were invited (in 2015 and 2016), and subsequently assessed by a sub-committee of the BNG Board. Projects contributed a combined £57,420 of match funding and volunteer time, delivering excellent value for money and demonstrating outstanding commitment from the successful applicants. 10 grants were awarded in total, 4 more than originally planned.
